........ one sad truth in life
The following is by Ella Wheeler Wilcox, an American poet :-
There's one sad truth in life I've found
While journeying east and west
The only folks we really wound
Are those we love best.
We flatter those we scarcely know,
we please the fleeting guest,
And deal full many a thoughtless blow
To those who love us best.
As Yours Sincerely ( Y s ) reads this poem stirring thoughts flash in his mind :-
1. How parents can forsake their children.
2. How children can forsake their parents.
3. How siblings can forsake each other over the most minute and trivial matter which are of no importance.
4. How we so easily apologize to strangers we bump into in public places.
5. How we trouble ourselves and lavish our hospitality to acquaintances we hardly
know.
6. But we unnecessarily hold grudges against our very own flesh and blood
Family is above all else.

So very true... and an apt reminder.
AJ7, it is heart breaking when siblings cut you off over very, very trivial things.Never 4get the source from where u drink!
We are angels to strangers!
footiam, u hit the nail on its head. How sad. We lost a sister n bro-in-law, very dear to us, that way.
Sorry to hear that, Thomas. I suppose we are all human and have failings.
i agree. But what to do ? Certain things are best not to do anything about it than to let it worsen.. It needs 2 hands to clap.
how true..we go all out to be so nice to visitors and friends because so 'pai seh' but we forget to treat our own family members well....
Jen, thanks for dropping by.
